Abstract:
Doped BaTiO3–ceramics materials structure can be controlled by using different synergetic effects as well as sintering and consolidation parameters. Additives concentration influence on BaTiO3-ceramics microstructure and dielectric properties is developed, based on fractal geometry. This properties control level is very important in advanced materials prognosis. Coble's two-sphere model is used as initial one for developing a new two-ellipsoid model; the ellipsoidal geometry can better approximate sintering particles than spherical one. In this paper, the grains contact models and connecting geometric parameters based on spherical, ellipsoidal and polyhedral geometric models, with consolidation parameters (sintering time and temperature), are established. The different additives concentration (Er2O3, Yb2O3, Ho2O3), from 0.01wt% to 1wt%, and 1320°C-1380°C sintering temperatures, are used. The fractal nature paves a new approach for the ceramics structure analysis, describing, prognosis and modeling the grains shape and relations between BaTiO3-¬ceramics structure and dielectric properties. This have been used for better understanding structural and electrical parameters interrelation and influence on grains clusters intergranular impedance.
